Ashland University's women's tennis team lost its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships opener to top-seeded Grand Valley State on Friday (Oct. 26) night in Midland, Mich.
The Lakers won the quarterfinal, 4-0.
Sophomore Camille Ringot played in a hard-fought match in the third singles slot, and came the closest to toppling one of the Lakers, losing 6-4, 6-4.
Ashland will play Ferris State on Saturday (Oct. 27) at 3:45 p.m. in Day 2 of GLIAC Championships competition.
