Ashland Women Drop First Match Of Spring Break Trip

Ashland University's women's tennis team lost its first match on its trip south against Francis Marion on Monday (March 4).

"We suffered a tough loss today against a good team in Francis Marion," said Ashland's assistant women's tennis coach Christian Hamilton. "We have several things we will be working on in practices as we progress through the season."

Ashland lost the match 6-1, the Eagles' only point coming from doubles, where they managed to win two of three matches and take the point.

Sophomore Anna Hart and junior Brianna Brdicka won their No. 1 doubles match 6-2, and sophomore Camille Ringot and junior Allison Brooks earned a 6-4 win in second doubles.

The Eagles can move on quickly, as they have another match on Wednesday (March 6) at Coastal Carolina.
