Ashland University's women's tennis team lost after a late surge at home against Tiffin University on Saturday (March 16).
The Eagles lost the match, 4-3, to the Dragons. Ashland was not able to win a doubles match, but made up for that with singles success.
Freshman Gabriella Hudec won her No. 2 singles match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. The other two wins for Ashland were close three-set wins. Sophomore Anna Hart was able to dominate in the final set of play after fighting back into the match in her No. 3 singles match to win, 3-6, 6-4, 10-2.
The third singles win from the Eagles came from the No. 6 spot. Sophomore Hazuki Ogino won her match in three sets, as well, after dropping the first set, 3-6, 6-2, 10-4.
Ashland's women will be back in action on Sunday (March 17), as they take on Edinboro at 3:45 p.m.
