Eagles Go 2-0 On Final Day Of Crossover

The AU volleyball team didn't just go out with a bang on Saturday (Oct. 26) at the GLIAC-GLVC Crossover. It's no exaggeration to say the Eagles went out with a boom and a bang and had a blast.

Ashland won two matches by 3-0 counts. To start the day, AU swept 15th-ranked Truman State. The Eagles took care of business in that match, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Late Saturday afternoon, the Eagles defeated Missouri S&T, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17.

Ashland is 16-6 and listed among the top teams in the region. Truman State is 16-7 and Missouri S&T is 12-12.

Against Truman State, Casey Clark had a team-high 13 kills. Alli Cudworth had 11 kills and six digs and Marci Zegarac recorded 15 digs. Megan Rohlfs finished with 10 digs.

Emilee Waters had 11 kills for Truman State.

In the match with Missouri S&T, Cudworth had a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs. Shelly DeHenning had 10 digs, 37 assists and two service aces. Zegarac had 18 digs and Clark had eight kills and 11 digs.

AU went 2-1 at the Crossover. On Friday, the Eagles lost, 3-2 to Missouri-St. Louis.

Up next for the Eagles is a GLIAC contest with Walsh this coming Friday (Nov. 1, 7 p.m.) at Kates Gymnasium.
