Cudworth Receives Third Player of the Week Award

Ashland University freshman outsider Alli Cudworth is this week's GLIAC South Division player of the week. This is the third time this season the rookie has received the award. The weekly award has been presented 11 times this year and six times an Ashland player has been named the recipient.

Cudworth helped the Eagles go 2-0 last week. The Eagles won at Wayne State and Findlay and ended the week with a nine-match winning streak. Ashland ended the regular season in first place in the GLIAC South and is the second seed in this week's GLIAC Tournament.

Cudworth had 26 kills and a .373 hitting percentage in a 3-1 victory at Wayne State. She followed that up with 12 kills and a .500 hitting percentage at Findlay where the Eagles prevailed, 3-0. For the weekend, Cudworth had 38 kills on 71 attempts with nine errors. She had two aces, five digs and one block.

The freshman is third in the conference in kills (387) and kills per set (3.76).

AU is 23-6, 15-3 in the GLIAC. The Eagles host Hillsdale on Wednesday (Nov. 20, 7 p.m.) in a first round GLIAC Tournament match.
