Volleyball Team Earns Key 3-0 Win at Walsh

Ashland University's volleyball team won its second consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match, prevailing Friday night (Oct. 24) at Walsh, 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-22).

The Eagles improve to 6-13 overall and 6-6 in the GLIAC. The Cavaliers fall to 1-19 overall and 1-11 in the league.

Sophomore Alli Cudworth paced the AU offense with 12 kills, and sophomore Katie Siefert had 29 assists. The Eagles had 13 service aces as a team (a team-high four by junior Samantha Zuber) – six more than the previous season-high.

Defensively, Cudworth led the way with 14 digs, and sophomore Casey Clark was right behind with 13.

Ashland won't have to go far to play its next match. Saturday (Oct. 25) at 2 p.m., the Eagles will take on Malone in their final regular-season road match of the season. AU is one game behind the Pioneers (10-12, 7-5) in the GLIAC South Division standings.
