Ashland University's volleyball team has earned a 2014-15 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams which displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative GPA on a 5.0 scale.
Ashland's team GPA for the 2014-15 academic year was 3.44.
AU is one of a record 754 collegiate and high school teams to earn an AVCA Team Academic Award.
The 2015 AVCA academic honor is the program's second this decade (2010).
