AU Volleyball Wins Third Straight 3-2 Decision, Tops Warriors

Ashland University's volleyball team swept its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road weekend, finishing off the 2-0 stretch with a 3-2 (25-17, 23-25, 16-25, 25-19, 15-13) win on Saturday (Oct. 24) afternoon at Wayne State.

The Eagles are 16-6 overall and 9-2 in the GLIAC, and are 6-0 in road matches and 11-4 in road/neutral-site contests. AU has won three straight matches, all in five sets, and is 6-1 in five-set matches in 2015.

Junior outside hitter Casey Clark had a season-high 23 digs and added 13 kills and a .480 hitting percentage. Junior setter Mallory Slyder tied a season-high with 52 assists and added 10 digs and three service aces, while freshman libero Kaitlin Bean collected 17 digs.

Junior outside hitter Alli Cudworth had her second double-double of the weekend (team-high 19 kills, 12 digs) to go with four block assists, while junior middle blocker/right-side hitter Rylee Scott recorded 16 kills and six block assists.

Ashland will return home for Senior Night on Friday (Oct. 30) at 7 p.m. against Walsh.
