AU Volleyball Begins Midwest Regional Rankings In Third

The first of three NCAA Division II volleyball regional rankings were released on Wednesday (Nov. 4), and Ashland University is in the No. 3 spot in the Midwest Region.

The Eagles are 18-7 overall and 11-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and are tied for first place in the GLIAC South Division. AU has four regular-season matches remaining, all on the road – Friday (Nov. 6) at 7 p.m. against Tiffin, Saturday (Nov. 7) at 2 p.m. vs. Ohio Dominican, Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. against Hillsdale and Saturday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. vs. Findlay.

The Midwest Region consists of the GLIAC, Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Eight teams from each region qualify for the 64-team national tournament, and each of those three conference's tournament champions get an automatic bid.

Regional rankings will be released twice more on Nov. 11 and 18. Selection for the NCAA Division II postseason will be on Monday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. on NCAA.com. Regionals will take place on the weekend of Dec. 3-6.

The Division II national championship match will be Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center in Tampa, Fla., hosted by the University of Tampa and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.
