Cudworth Earns First GLIAC South Award Of 2016

After winning the honor three times in 2015, Ashland University senior outside hitter Alli Cudworth is the first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week in 2016.

Leading the Eagles to a 4-0 start at the Angelina Miele Memorial Tournament in Lock Haven, Pa., Cudworth paces the GLIAC in kills per set (5.13), overall kills (77) and points per set (5.8) through the first week of play. She also is tied for seventh in the conference in service aces with six.

In 2015, Cudworth earned the following postseason awards – third-team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America, second-team American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America, two All-Midwest Region awards (AVCA first-team and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association [D2CCA] second-team) and first-team All-GLIAC.

Ashland will play four matches at the University of Indianapolis Tournament on Friday (Sept. 9) and Saturday (Sept. 10).
