THE TURNING POINT: Ashland took a 7-2 lead in the first set at Lake Superior State and didn't look back.

Still in the early stages of a lengthy road stretch, Ashland University's volleyball team earned its fourth consecutive victory, 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-13), on Friday (Sept. 30) night at Lake Superior State.
The Eagles move to 10-5 overall and 4-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Lakers are 1-13, 0-6.
Senior outside hitter Alli Cudworth paced the Ashland offense with 11 kills, while adding three service aces and five digs. Cudworth needs 16 kills to become the fourth player in program history with 1,500 in a career.
Senior libero Casey Clark had a team-high eight digs, leaving her two shy of Marci Zegarac for fourth place on Ashland's all-time list.
Sophomore setter Kayla Pfeiffer added 31 assists in the victory, while freshman outside hitter Shelby Woycik posted eight kills and three block assists.
The Eagles ended the match with 14 service aces, half of those recorded by sophomore outside hitter/right-side hitter Jordan Mackay.
Ashland finished with a hitting percentage of .337 in the match, the second-highest total of 2016.
The Eagles kept the Lakers to a match hitting percentage of .092.
Ashland has won double-digit matches for the 13th consecutive year.
