The Ashland University volleyball team earned a prestigious distinction from the American Volleyball Coaches Association this week as the Eagles were named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, ranking them among the top 25 academic teams in Division II.
In the 2017-18 school year, the Eagles posted a 3.68 team grade-point average. It was the fourth straight time they received a Team Academic Award, but the Honor Roll distinction puts them in an elite academic class among their peers.
Ten of the 13 qualifying players earned at least a 3.50 GPA during the academic year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average.
