The Ashland University volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for its prowess in the classroom last academic year the American Volleyball Coaches Association recently announced.
The Eagles posted a team grade-point average of 3.39 for the 2018-19 school year. Eleven student-athletes from last year's squad carried a grade point average of at least 3.4.
It is the fifth straight year, and seventh time overall, the Eagles have earned this academic honor.
Ashland competed in its first season under head coach Kevin Foeman, who guided the Eagles to a 25-7 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in seven years. The Eagles were 14-2 in GLIAC play.
