Peck Wins Second Career GLIAC South Player of the Week Honor

Ashland University sophomore setter Zoey Peck was named the GLIAC South Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday (Sept. 23) afternoon. 

She is the second straight AU player to win the award after sophomore Erin Krupar claimed the honor on Sept. 16. It is Peck's second career GLIAC South Player of the Week award after also winning it on Oct. 15, 2018 after the Midwest Region Crossover.

Peck helped the Eagles to a 4-0 record last week as they beat Malone last Tuesday, NCAA Tournament team Illinois Springfield on Thursday, then went 2-0 in GLIAC play against Purdue Northwest and Parkside on the weekend.

She helped the Eagles hit .242 in the four matches, including over .300 in the final two contests of the weekend.

Peck recorded 156 assists in the four matches, averaging 12 per set. She entered the weekend ranked fifth in the nation with 11.97 assists per set and she is the GLIAC leader in that category. Peck also picked up 42 digs (3.23 per set) and seven kills on the week.

She had two double-doubles, including 46 assists and 18 digs against Malone and 36 assists and 15 digs in Ashland's sweep of Parkside on Saturday.

The Eagles (10-2), winners of five straight, return to the court on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at 7 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium to take on Wayne State.
