Volleyball To Welcome Back Alumni, Hall of Famers on Saturday

The Ashland University volleyball team will celebrate an alumni day and recognize five former volleyball players who have been inducted in the AU Hall of Fame when the Eagles take on No. 18 Ferris State on Saturday (Oct. 26) at 5 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium.

The five Hall of Famers include Darla Price '78, Bobby Weaver '93, Brandie Albert ' 99, Mary Kate Glowe ' 08 and Lynsey Warren '08 '10. More than two dozen alumni are expected to be in attendance as the Eagles celebrate their legacy at Kates Gymnasium.

The Hall of Fame members will be recognized prior to Saturday's match, which will be a crucial regular season contest for the Eagles, who enter the weekend having won all three of their matches at the Midwest Region Crossover last week.

The match against Ferris State will have a Halloween theme, and feature an in-house DJ supplying music throughout the match.

Fans and students are encouraged to attend the match in costume with the winner of a costume contest to be featured on the next #WallpaperWednesday on the AU athletic Twitter and Instagram pages.

Additionally, any fan with a ticket from Saturday's 1 p.m. football game against Michigan Tech will be admitted free to the volleyball match.

The Eagles (18-4, 7-2 GLIAC) sit atop the GLIAC South standings, and one match behind Ferris State (16-4, 8-1 GLIAC) in conference play.
