Foeman Wins 100th As Eagles Sweep Parkside

The Ashland University volleyball team turned in an exceptional defensive performance on its way to a 25-13, 25-21, 25-22, sweep at host Parkside on Friday (Nov. 1) night in Kenosha, Wis.

It was the 100th career win for head coach Kevin Foeman, who is in his second season with the Eagles after spending his first three seasons at Lake Erie. While at Ashland, Foeman has compiled a 46-11 record.

The Eagles (21-4, 10-2 GLIAC) have now won six matches in a row heading into Saturday's contest at Purdue Northwest.

On Friday, the Eagles dominated from the outset as they held the Rangers (8-16, 3-9 GLIAC) to a minus-.059 hitting percentage in the opening set. Parkside hit just .066 for the match with the Eagles hit at a .224 clip.

Ashland maintained attacking balance with six players picking up at least three kills. Junior Ellie Jensen led the way with nine kills (.231).

Redshirt-junior Lexi Lombardo added seven kills (.412) and did not commit a hitting error. It is the eighth straight match she has had one or zero errors.

Sophomore Erin Krupar added six kills (.214), and senior Sophi Cudworth and freshman Anna Krikke had four each.

Sophomore Zoey Peck handed out 29 assists and was one dig shy of a double-double. Junior libero McKinley Smith had a team-high 14 digs.

Reese Rossnagel led the Rangers with 10 kills (.259) and Ann Leo had 14 digs.

The Eagles and Purdue Northwest will square off at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday (Nov. 2) in Hammond, Ind.
