For the second straight season, the Ashland University volleyball team had its entire starting lineup selected to the postseason All-GLIAC teams the league announced on Friday (Nov. 22) night.
Senior outside/middle Sophi Cudworth and sophomore setter Zoey Peck were named to the All-GLIAC first team by the league's coaches.
The All-GLIAC second team included sophomore outside Erin Krupar, junior middle Lexi Lombardo, junior outside Brooke Peiffer and senior libero McKinley Smith. Redshirt-freshman middle Chelsey Farris was selected to the All-GLIAC honorable mention list.
Cudworth put together the best statistical season of her four-year career after earning second team honors last year. She is ranked eighth in the GLIAC in kills with 359 while hitting .271 overall. Cudworth showed remarkable consistency with double-digit kills in 20 of her 31 matches played.
Cudworth recorded her 1,000th career kill in a 3-1 win over Grand Valley State on Nov. 15.
Peck, who was the AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year last season, turned in another stellar season as the Eagles' setter. She currently ranks third in the nation in total assists with 1,290 and has helped the Eagles hit .233 on the season. Peck was named the GLIAC South Player of the Week on Sept. 23. She was an All-GLIAC second team choice last season.
Krupar leads the Eagles in kills with 384 and ranks fifth in the GLIAC in that category. She also averages 1.87 digs per set and has six double-doubles on the season. Krupar, who was an All-GLIAC second team selection last season, was named the GLIAC South Player of the Week on Sept. 16 and Oct. 28.
Lombardo, in her first season on the floor with the Eagles, is the team's most efficient hitter, posting a hitting percentage of .325 while averaging 2.1 kills per set. She is also second on the team in blocks with 82 and is averaging 1.19 digs per set.
Peiffer ranks second on the team and sixth in the GLIAC in kills with 376. She is hitting .181 on the season and has 15 double-doubles. Peiffer, also in her first season on the floor with Ashland, recorded her 1,000th career kill on Oct. 19 in a 3-1 win over Indianapolis. She was named the GLIAC Player of the Week on Sept. 30 and also was selected to the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament team.
Smith leads the GLIAC in digs per set at 4.96 and is second in total digs with 511. She has double-digit dig totals in 24 of her 28 matches played and had at least 20 digs in 14 matches, including seven straight in October.
Farris ranks fifth in the GLIAC in blocks with 91 and fourth with 0.89 blocks per set. She has totaled 102 kills and has 1.00 kills per set on the season. Farris had a career-high eight blocks at Wayne State on Nov. 9.
The Eagles (24-7) are in their second season under head coach Kevin Foeman. They are awaiting their NCAA Tournament fate, which will be revealed on a selection show on Monday.
