Highlights: Placed first in the 5K at the Ashland Alumni meet (15:11)... finished 11th at the GLIAC Championships with a lifetime PR of 15:06.28.

College - Throughout the 2012-13 season, Potes was a major contributor - both in cross country and track and field. He finished fourth for an AU  team that tied for ninth at nationals. Overall, he was 62nd out of 245 in 30:52 (10K). Potes was redshirted in 2011-12 for the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. He finished fifth for the cross country team that placed second at the GLIAC Championships.

High School – Potes clocked a personal best of 15:38 in the 5K, finishing third at the cross country state championships his senior season. He did not compete during the outdoor season due to surgery on his ankle. He finished fourth in the 1600 meters (4:23) at the state meet his junior season.
