Davis Earns Third GLIAC Player Of The Week Honor Of 2014-15

Ashland University sophomore forward Wendell Davis is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week for the third time this season.

In three games last week at home against Lake Erie (Feb. 2) and Walsh (Feb. 5) and at Malone (Feb. 7), Davis finished with 58 points on 17-of-31 shooting from the field (54.8 percent) and 24-of-31 shooting from the free-throw line (77.4 percent), and added 28 rebounds (13 offensive), six assists and three steals.

He ranks first in the GLIAC in free throws made (122) and attempted (158), fourth in points per game (17.1), second in rebounds per game (7.8) and sixth in field-goal percentage (57.8) this season.

Davis also earned the honor in each of the first two weeks of the 2014-15 season.

Ashland's men's basketball team will return to the floor on Thursday (Feb. 12) at 7:30 p.m. for a key GLIAC South game at Findlay.
