The Ashland University women's tennis team was downed by visiting Mercyhurst, 9-0, on Thursday (March 22) afternoon at the Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, Ohio.
The Lakers (13-0), who remained undefeated in dual matches on the season, did not drop a set against the Eagles (8-15).
In singles play, freshman Hazuki Ogino came closest, but lost to Adrianna Jeffress, 6-2, 6-4. At second doubles, Ogino and junior Natalie Keron played the narrowest match, falling to Saioa Gomez de Segura and Adina Spahalic, 8-6.
Ashland has the next three weeks off from competition before closing the spring season with three matches in April, the first of which coming April 15 at Slippery Rock.
